Present Continuous

*Verb be= is, are, am NEVER use do, does, doesn't, don't with verb be ............... *ALL the other verbs (NOT verb be) are going to: -Add -s/-es/-ies at the end of the verb in POSITIVE SENTENCES when the subject is he, she, it -Negative sentences: (DO NOT CHANGE THE VERB) *I, you, we, they use don't/ do not before the verb *He, She, It use doesn't/ does not before the verb -Questions: (DO NOT CHANGE THE VERB) *Start with "Do" when the subject is I, you, we, they *Start with "Does" when the subject is he, she, it

*ALWAYS use verb be + gerund *Verb be depends on the subject: I am (You, We, They) are (He, She, It) is * NEVER use do, does, doesn't, don't with verb be *Questions start with verb be

*To talk about temporary situations *To communicate that something is annoying (add "always to the sentence"). Example: Present continuous + "always" ---> Expresses something annoying The dog barks all day. (Simple present= this is a fact./ This is a habit.) The dog is always barking. (Present continuous= it communicates that the barking of the dog is annoying) *To talk about actions happening now/ in this moment or around the time of speaking.
